Research Overview

The control of cell growth and differentiation has been a major issue in basic developmental biology as well as cancer research. The elucidation of molecular mechanisms that control and orchestrate cellular responses to developmental signals greatly assists in identifying the genetic causes and treatments for human diseases. These signals regulate downstream molecules that trigger a cascade of signaling events to reprogram the profile of gene expression. Investigating the mechanisms by which the developmental signaling pathway regulates gene expression, and controls cell growth and differentiation in health and disease is the long-term interest of my laboratory.
