PAMELA
WHITE, NEW BIBBY LIBRARIAN
Pamela White started as the new Bibby librarian on October 28, 2002.
Pam has worked in several health sciences libraries: at Highland Hospital,
the University at Buffalo, and most recently at SUNY Upstate Medical University
in Syracuse. Her hours are 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday.
If you haven’t met her yet, please stop by Bibby Library to say
hello.
Chris DeGolyer, Bibby’s librarian for the past 3 years, will remain
at Miner Library as the Medicine/Dentistry Outreach Librarian. She hopes
to see many of the residents, faculty, and staff from the Eastman Dental
Center when they’re visiting Miner.
STUDENT ASSISTANTS
Four new student assistants are working in Bibby Library this academic
year, keeping Bibby Library open on evenings and weekends. They are: undergraduates
Elizabeth Boerman, Rachel Boylan, Katrina Gerber, and Alexis Leslie.
NEW COMPUTERS IN THE LIBRARY
In March of this year, four new computers were purchased for public use
in the Library. One of the computers was purchased with Bibby Library gift
funds.We now have four Dell Optiplex PC’s, with zip and CD
drives, 19 inch monitors, and Windows 2000 software. One of the
computers has a scanner and Photoshop Elements software for image
editing. A new HP LaserJet printer was also purchased to complete
the upgrade.

UPGRADES TO THE VOYAGER ONLINE CATALOG
Recent upgrades to the University of Rochester Libraries’ Voyager
system provide expanded capabilities for users. You can now:
- Set your personal searching preferences
- Save search results to personal “book bag”
- Save a search and return to it at a later time
- View current charges, holds, fines, and fees
- Renew books or journals
- Request an item for delivery from any U of R library
- Receive E-Mail notification regarding reserves, fines, or overdue items
To use these new functions go to the Voyager site at http://groucho.lib.rochester.edu/
and click on My Account. If you have any questions, please
stop in the Bibby Library or give us a call at 275-5010.
MISSING JOURNALS
Lately, we’ve noticed an increase in the number of patrons who are looking
for a journal only to find that it’s missing from the shelf. As a reminder:
- Unbound journals do not circulate. If you need to borrow an issue to make
a quick photocopy, please check with the Library staff.
- Bound journals circulate for one week.
- If you would like to borrow a bound journal when the Library is not staffed,
please complete a white sign-out slip and leave it in the box on the counter
as you exit the Library.
The following journals are missing. If you happen to find any of them, please
let us know and we’ll come pick them up:
