BIBBY LIBRARY CIRCULATION GOES ONLINE
Bibby Library is now using the same Voyager online system to circulate
books and bound journals that all University of Rochester libraries use.
To sign out an item, a library staff member scans your ID and the bar
code on the book. The first time you sign out an item at Bibby, we may
need to take a few minutes to enter or update your patron record.
To sign out bound journals when the library is closed, please fill out
a form at the signout shelf with your name & ID barcode as well as the
journal's title, date and barcode. We will enter that information into
Voyager the next day.
Online circulation has several advantages for both library users and
library staff. Once you have registered at one UR library, you are registered
at all UR libraries. You can use the Voyager catalog to check your own
library record and to renew items. The Voyager online library catalog
displays whether an item is signed out and when it is due. Voyager automatically
runs overdue notices and keeps track of fines and circulation statistics.
We have been preparing for online circulation for several months and
expect the transition to be smooth. Still, we appreciate your patience
with any glitches that may arise.
Check Your Library Record, Renew Your Own Books Online
Once you are registered, the Voyager online catalog allows you to see
your own library record, as well as list of materials you have borrowed
from any UR library. To see your record, log onto the Voyager online catalog
(http://groucho.lib.rochester.edu/)
and click on "Patron Information". This screen will appear.
Enter your ID's 14 digit barcode number, your last name, and click on
"Login". Your patron record will appear, including items charged out to
you with due dates, items you have requested, and any fines on your library
account. To renew items, click in the box next to each item you would
like to renew, and click on "Renew Items".
