Bibby Library Wants to Hear from You

Is there an information resource that Bibby Library does not provide? Do you have a complaint or a commendation? Are you in need of additional help using our current resources or services, or do you have an idea for a new service?

The Library now has a suggestion box, located on the wall next to the circulation desk, with forms for submitting your ideas or issues. We welcome your input and will respond to all comments on a regular basis. Suggestions can be anonymous, or, if you leave your name and contact information (email address or phone number), we'll reply directly.

Those who prefer to to communicate electronically can click on the Ask A Librarian link on the Bibby Library Home Page.

As always, feel free to contact Pam or Beth directly in person, by email, or phone.

Network Connectivity for Laptops

Bibby Library is pleased to announce that we have added three network "drops" for laptop access. Drops are located on the central pillar near the stacks, under the table near the photocopier, and in the reading area next to the coffee table. Please note: in order to access the network, laptops must be equipped with an ethernet lan card.

If you have any questions, please ask Pam, Beth, or the student assistants.

Listen Up!

We now have headphones that can be used at all of the public computer stations in the library. If you have a presentation or lecture that you would like to listen to, please feel free to ask a staff member for a pair of headphones.

Student Assistants

Alexis, Katrina and Kenan will all be graduating this spring. Although we are sad to see them leave, we wish them all the best in their future endeavors. We are delighted that Rachel and Elizabeth will continue to work at Bibby this summer and next year.

Annals of Periodontology Now Online

Annals of Periodontology is now available online through the Miner Digital Library. Full text is available beginning with Volume. 4, Number 1, December 1999. Access to full text requires a password, which can be obtained by calling either Bibby Library (275-5010) or Miner Library (275-3361). Abstracts can be viewed without a password and Bibby Library also continues to carry this serial in print. Check out the current issue (December 2003) which contains an article by Dr. Jack Caton!

Book Sale

We have been weeding our collection to make room for newer books. All the books we have pulled from our collection are now on sale for $1 each. These are located on the cart just outside the library office door. Please see a staff member if you are interested in purchasing any of these items.

Gazette Moves Online

Beginning with our next issue, the Bibby Library Gazette will migrate to an online-only format. This change will help us decrease both the cost of production and the staff time required to produce the newsletter in two formats. Readers at the University will be notified by email when a new issue is published. For those of you who are on our print mailing list, but who are not currently at the University, the library staff will print a copy from our web site and mail it to you. If you, too, would prefer to receive the online version, please email Beth Lange at Elizabeth_Lange@urmc.rochester.edu.

The Bibby Library Gazette is available on the Web at: http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/dentistry/bibby/gazette/.
