If you are an internationally trained dentist:

What is required to apply for admission?

  • Dental degree - D.D.S., D.M.D. or equivalent (i.e. B.D.S.)
  • Dental school transcripts
  • Plans for a career in teaching/research
  • If accepted into the program, the UR will help you obtain a VISA
  • TOEFL scores will be required upon acceptance
  • Note: National Board exam scores are not required
  • Note: International students are not required to apply for licensure or a limited permit from the New York State Education Department

If you are a US/Canadian
trained dentist:

What is required to apply for admission?

  • U.S. and Canadian dentists who are accepted must apply for licensure or a limited permit from the New York State Education Department
