Objective:To
recognize a
part-or full-time Eastman Department
of Dentistry
faculty member
for demonstrating sustained
excellence in
clinical
education.
Selection Process:
An award committee
consisting of division
chiefs and residents/students
will
request applications
for this award
on a yearly basis.
It will
only be awarded
in years with a qualified
candidate.
Criteria:
The selected faculty
member should:
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and interaction
with residents and students
- Spend a significant component of time actively providing
clinical education
- Demonstrate a genuine concern and interest for resident/student
clinical education
- Be knowledgeable and skilled in his or her area of
expertise
- Be respected by residents/students, peers, and staff
- Be a patient advocate, assuring high quality care
- Have a high standard of ethics.

| Part-Time
Faculty Award
Deadline for Applications: To be announced
Objective:To acknowledge the important contributions
of part-time faculty in dental education program. Although
a single individual is honored each year, we are in essence
honoring all of our part-time faculty.
Selection Process: The award is presented annually
to a part-time faculty for excellence in
teaching. The names of the candidates,
along with a supporting statement,
CV, and letters of support from residents/students
and faculty should be submitted. The
award will be presented during
the Convocation.
Criteria:The selected faculty
member should
- Have an overall impact on student learning
- Exhibit a high quality of clinical supervision or research
mentorship
- Show leadership in organizing or conducting courses
and/or seminars
- Be dedicated to the concept of postgraduate dental
education.
