How to prevent a fall: Get the nutrients you need.

Some people have nutritional deficiencies that can lead to a fall. By making sure you are getting the proper nutrients, you can reduce your risks.

Ask your doctor about the following nutritional supplements:

  • Vitamin D deficiencies are common in our northern climate. Ask your doctor for a blood test that can determine if you are deficient.

  • Calcium is important for bone strength, and many older adults don’t get enough. Ask your doctor about supplementing with 500-1,000 mg per day
