Having trouble accessing features on Miner's site?In order to accommodate visitors to our Web site using non-traditional or newer technology (such as Personal Desktop Assistants) and to ensure that our content is available to those using assistive technology (such as screenreaders), we have redesigned the Miner site using the latest Web standards. However, the same Web standards that help so many of our visitors may cause problems for a small percentage of visitors using older browsers such as Netscape and Internet Explorer 4. We do not want to alienate our visitors using older browsers, but we do believe it's our responsibility to make sure that all of the information found on our Web site is accessible to everyone. Since upgrading a Web browser is free and relatively easy, it was our decision to conform to current Web standards as closely as possible because Web standards are designed to make Web sites easier for everyone, including visitors with disabilities or the latest technological devices. Benefits to upgrading your browserThere are other benefits to upgrading your browser, in addition to being able to take full advantage of Miner Library's redesign features. Over the coming year you will find more and more sites redesigning using these same standards. For example, ESPN and Cingular Wireless now conform to standards. Once you upgrade your browser you will find that pages load faster, look better, and offer more features. Upgrade today and find what you're missing! Learn More About Web Standards We're Not PerfectWhile most of the Miner site is standards compliant and conforms to basic accessibility rules, there are a few pages that still need work. If you have a suggestion or find a "bug," please let us know. We want Miner Library's Web site to be the best it can be. Thank you. |
Here is a list of standards-compliant browsers. Each browser is free, and can handle the code used on the Miner Library site. |
