Beatriz Leon, Ph.D.
Dr. Leon received her Ph.D. in 2007 from Autónoma University of Madrid in Spain. Afterwards, she worked as a research associate at Department of Immunology and Oncology, National Center of Biotechnology in Madrid.
While attending these centers, Dr. Leon worked on the investigation of monocyte differentiation into dendritic cells during homeostasis and cutaneous Leishmania infection and how monocyte-derived dendritic cells drive immunity against pathogens and influence the Th1/Th2 balance of the immune response.
Beginning in March of 2008 Dr. Leon moved within Trudeau Institute to the laboratory of Dr. Frances E. Lund, as a post-doctoral fellow and in October 2008, she joined the University of Rochester, Division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology as a post-doctoral fellow for Dr. Frances E. Lund. Her current work aims to examine the role of effector cytokine-producing B cells in the regulation of Th2 responses.
