The General Medicine Division at the University of Rochester Medical Center has operated an Executive Health Program since 1990.  The program provides corporation executives with a health maintenance, assessment and counseling service.  Recognizing that many executives do not take time to seek preventive health care on their own, the program provides a comprehensive evaluation including medical history, examination and testing.  Special care is made to identify psychosocial stressors, define an individuals adaptive mechanisms to stress and give advice on stress management strategies.  Recommendations and education focus also on preventive health, healthy lifestyle changes and ongoing medical concerns.  Summaries are sent to participants as well as physicians of their choice.
