Paul Dougherty, D.C., FACO

Dr. Dougherty is a graduate of Northwestern College in Iowa. He completed his chiropractic training at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. He completed his internship at Logan with special hospital training at Metropolitan North and West Hospitals in St. Louis. He then spent 12 years in private practice in the Binghamton area, where he was the first chiropractor in the Southern Tier to be granted hospital privileges. He then left private practice to take the position with NYCC, where he teaches in the Diagnosis and Technique departments and is also a member of the Research department where he has worked on the neurophysiology of spinal manipulation.

He is currently working on clinical research on chiropractic care in the elderly, both community dwelling elderly as well as the long term care population. Dr. Dougherty is also on the board of directors of the New York State Chiropractic Association and is specifically part of a steering committee on the integration of chiropractic into the mainstream of health care.
