Dr. William Barker is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University where he also completed his internal medicine residency. Dr. Barker has conducted research and published extensively on major disease trends and impacts among older persons and on innovative geriatrics health services. These include studies on influenza, pneumonia, stroke, hip fracture, and congestive heart failure and a book on the British Geriatric Medicine Services, Adding Life to Years (John Hopkins Press, 1987). He provides core seminars on health service organization and financing for older persons, approaches to clinical health services and epidemiology research and directs a new masters level course on "Public Health and Aging."
