Hospitalist faculty precept students in the 3rd year Medicine Clerkship and the new 4th year Hospitalist Subinternship. HMD faculty also precept upper level residents in the Bedside Scholar Elective at Strong, in which residents oversee midlevel practitioners in the care of patients attended by hospitalist faculty in the morning and perform a quality improvement project in the afternoon. As in the student elective, residents are required to formally present their work at the end of the rotation and are encouraged to submit their work for presentation in other settings.
