OUR MISSION
The Hospital Medicine Divison is committed to meeting the general medical needs of adult patients at Strong Memorial Hospital with safe, well-coordinated, and individualized care in a setting that embraces the education of the future health care professionals.
The Hospital Medicine Division
The Hospital Medicine Division (HMD) currently serves as home to 20 faculty hospitalists and more than 40 mid-level practitioners at Strong Memorial Hospital. The HMD works cooperatively with the General Medicine Division and the Strong Health Primary Care Network in the care of mutual patients.
A Growing number of community-based primary care physicians refer their patients to the hospitalist service for inpatient care. The HMD also cares for a large patient population without primary care physicians.
In conjunction with their clinical care, hospitalist faculty teach hospital medicine to medical students and internal medicine residents of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
The division has also embarked on a plan to develop research programs to further benefit our patients and trainees.
