Rochester Deaf Festival 2013

Saturday June 8, 2013 11am-4pm at the Genesee Valley Park, Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14620. Come see your friends from NCDHR, the Deaf Health Community Committee (DHCC), and many other vendors. There will be many activities and lots of entertainment throughout the day.

College Health Talk Series :

These talks, lead by Tiffany Panko, are specifically for college students and will focus on different health topics that cause a major concern for today's college students. These topics range from "Stress Management" to "Sports Injuries". The presentations, held once a month, will be at NTID in the Student Development Center, room 2102. Stress Management

This workshop focused on explaining what stress is, when it can be good or bad, and what it really does to the body in both the short-term and long-term. Management techniques were discussed, including an opportunity for participants to practice some yoga poses.

Seasonal Affective Disorder

As the school year makes you busier and the days get shorter, you may feel stressed but also down or depressed. This session discussed if this could be because of Seasonal Affective Disorder, how and why it happens, and strategies to feel better.

Colllege Health Talk Flyer

With the New Year, for many, comes a new you with new goals! This workshop aims to help students accomplish some of those goals and improve their overall health. There will be discussion of how to lose weight the healthy way as well as why volunteering is important, along with an opportunity (maybe two) to sign up for a volunteering event.
