About this ConferenceThe Department of Radiology of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is pleased to invite you to join us for a comprehensive four-day educational program focusing on "The Expanding Integrated Digital Healthcare Enterprise." This educational program will offer Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. PACS 2005 will feature cardiologist, dentists, orthopedic surgeons, pathologists and radiologists who will discuss special requirements for their clinical specialties that will enable PACS to enhance their productivity and patient care. Four sessions will be devoted to the Healthcare Enterprise Archive (HEA) detailing Information Technology's (IT) role, storage technology, archival strategies, security, business continuance and more. A session will be devoted to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) along with two interactive panel discussions on the HEA and EMR featuring physicians, informatics experts and vendors. Of course, the fundamentals and implementation of PACS and re-engineering the digital healthcare environment will receive extensive coverage. A nationally recognized faculty will present technical and clinical lectures and representatives from small to large healthcare environments will present case studies of their experience in implementing and operating in a digital environment. Attendees will have the hands-on opportunity of working and viewing the technical offerings of over 40 leading exhibitors in the digital healthcare market. The conference will feature two receptions: a Mix & Mingle Reception on March 9, 2005 and the Last Chance Reception on March 12, 2005 plus breakfast and lunch buffets in the exhibit area to provide ample time for attendees to interact with the faculty and exhibitors. Conference DescriptionA variety of educational methodologies will be used as our distinguished faculty shares their combined practical and clinical experiences with attendees. The program will feature Fundamentals, Re-engineering Workflow, Electronic Medical Record, Enterprise Archive, Security, Disaster Recovery, Case Studies for small as well as large healthcare institutions and Clinical Applications including Cardiology, Orthopedics, Pathology, Radiology and more. Presentations at PACS 2005 will include clinical applications that emphasize PACS is a tool of the entire healthcare enterprise. The importance of implementing an enterprise archive that eliminates silos of discrete storage will be emphasized as well as how to accomplish this goal. The program will feature case studies of PACS, Healthcare Archive, Data Migration and EMR implementation in a variety of healthcare settings including community hospitals, IDNs and private practices.Conference AttireBusiness casual clothing is recommended for this conference that is known for its relaxed educational atmosphere. The conference room temperature is generally on the cool side and attendees are urged to dress appropriately. |
