Antibody Injection
11 visits over 20 weeks
Aim: To assess the safety and tolerability of a single dose of antibody in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
Intervention: One time injection of antibody or placebo.
Use of cholinesterase inhibitors and memantine must be stable for 60 days. All other medications must be stable for 30 days.

Memory Patch Study
6 visits over 5 weeks
Aim: To assess the safety and tolerability of patients who switch from donepezil to the memory patch.
Intervention: Rivastigmine vs. donepezil

Rosiglitazone for Alzheimer's Disease
10 visits over 54 weeks
Aim: To improve cognition in participants with mild to moderate AD using pharmaceutical treatment.
Intervention: Possible treatment with Rosiglitazone for 48 weeks. Must be taking a cholinesterase inhibitor for at least 6 months. Must not be taking Memantine, MAOI's or antipsychotics. Participants must not have a history of CHF, diabetes, gastrointestinal, hepatic or renal disease.

DHA (Omega-3)
8 visits over 18 months
Aim: To determine whether Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), an omega-3 fatty acid, slows the progression of cognitive and functional decline in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
Use of cholinesterase inhibitors and memantine must be stable for at least 4 months prior to enrollment.

Treating Depression in AD
7 visits over 24 weeks
Aim: Treating depression in people with mild to moderate AD who also have depression.
Intervention: Sertraline, placebo. Both treatment groups receive counseling.
No hallucinations or psychiatric medications. Stable AD medications are allowed.

Huperzine to Improve Cognition
9 visits over 24 weeks
Aim: To improve cognitive function in people with mild to moderate AD through huperzine.
Intervention: Herbal huperzine, placebo.
No cholinesterase inhibitors for AD (such as Aricept) or history of stroke. Stable Memantine use, estrogen, Vitamin E, or Detrol are allowed.
