Welcome to Animal Resource
Our mission is to assure the humane care and well-being of animals used in research and teaching at the University of Rochester. We strive to promote quality science through responsible animal care and use.
The Animal Resource includes three functional components:
- Department of Comparative Medicine, the academic program which includes graduate training, course offerings, and research initiatives
- Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DLAM), which provides the veterinary care, specialized training, and services to researchers
- Vivarium, which provides all animal care and research specific services
