What I love most about my job: Learning new things and working with great people who share my curiosity to know more and realize that research can be a lot of fun. Mentoring young faculty and seeing them succeed.
If I could choose an occupation other than my current one, it would be: Something else I was good at—but the problem is there isn’t anything else that qualifies.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy: Being with my wife Joan and the rest of my family, including 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren who are the joy of our lives. We also travel a bit, often together.
Something that people might be surprised to know about me: I spent 4 years in the Navy on Nuclear submarines and was, at one time, licensed to operate a General Electric nuclear reactor
Last good movie I watched: The latest James Bond Movie. It had everything such as a great story, super action and many subtle references to past Bond movies.
