Staff Profile - November 2012
Position: Nurse Manager, Hematology-Oncology, Wilmot Cancer Center
Employed at URMC Since: 1993
What I love most about my job: This position challenges me to better myself as a manager and leader. It
requires me to increase my comfort level and become more adept with things I may not naturally gravitate towards. I enjoy learning from others, how to be a better person and provide people with what they need to succeed.
If I could choose an occupation other than my current one, it would be: Owning my own bed and breakfast with my husband, Scott.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy: My life! I’m healthy, happy, and have a beautiful family and home. I run, do yoga, garden, and I’m addicted to consignment shopping and Starbucks. I love to eat my husband’s cooking, enjoy my church, and love watching my children grow into great human beings.
Something that people might be surprised to know about me: I was a flute performance major at the Crane School of Music at Potsdam.
Last good movie I watched: Diary of a Wimpy Kid; my 16-year-old son Grey gets a kick out of seeing me cry because I laugh so hard. It portrays how you REALLY feel as a teenager, and as a parent! And of course, the Hunger Games; my 14-year-old daughter Noelle concurs!
