Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies

Providing Patients with a Positive Experience

Wilmot is home to the region’s first Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) and Cellular Therapies program. We’ve provided more than 3,000 transplants since our program began in 1989. Our program brings together over 30 years of experience, cutting-edge research, and extensive support services to provide patients and families the best possible treatment options.

Wilmot’s BMT program is one of the largest in New York State. It was one of the first programs to be accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). Strong Memorial Hospital has been accredited by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) as a donor Transplant Center since 1992 and is home to an NMDP-approved donor collection center for apheresis and bone marrow harvests.

Our program provides the full spectrum of Cellular Therapies which include blood and marrow transplant care and Immune effector cell therapy.  Therapies include haploidentical, cord blood, autologous, and allogeneic transplants, as well as CAR-T cell therapy for eligible patients.
