URMC received the Get With The Guidelines - Heart Failure GOLD Achievement Award from the American Heart Association for April 2012-2013.
Comprehensive Hypertension Center of Excellence
The University of Rochester Medical Center is the first medical center in the nation to earn top-tier recognition for its evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure from the American Society of Hypertension. In April 2012, the American Society of Hypertension designated URMC as a Comprehensive Hypertension Center of Excellence.

Advanced Certification: Heart Failure and Ventricular Assist Devices
URMC is the first in the region to receive Advanced Certification from the Joint Commission for Heart Failure and Ventricular Assist Devices.
Gold Performance Achievement Award
Strong Memorial is the only hospital in the region to receive the 2010 ACTION Registry - Get with the Guidelines Gold Performance Achievement Award, and is one of only 136 hospitals in the nation to receive this top honor. The award recognizes those hospitals that consistently treat patients with heart attacks according to guidelines established by the American College of Cardiology and the AHA.
Gold and Gold Plus Performance Achievement Awards
Strong Memorial earned a Gold Performance Award for heart failure and a Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award for stroke care from the American Heart Association in 2011. Hospitals that have earned a Gold Performance Achievement Award have maintained this performance level for two or more consecutive years.
