The CCTV is an automated system that staff and patients can watch throughout the Medical Center and hospital.

Ordering Patient Videos

Here's how to order patient videos from the URMC automated video distribution system.

To Play the Video Now

  1. Turn CCTV to a Patient Channel (47-52).
  2. Identify the desired video on the scrolling screen (jot down the video number).
  3. Dial the automated video system (phone number is 7-0039) and follow instructions.
  • Press 1 if you are a patient.
  • Press 1 to make a reservation or press 2 to delete a reservation (disregard option 3 you can not control the program once it has begun).
  • Enter the program number (from step 2) followed by the # key.
  • Press 1 if correct.
  • Press 1 to play now or press2 to schedule at a later date. Your video will be played on a patient channel (47-52).
  • Turn any URMC CCTV to the channel identified by the automated system.

To Schedule the Video Later (up to 30 Days)

  1. Turn any URMC CCTV to a Patient Channel (47-52).
  2. Identify the desired video on the scrolling screen (jot down the video number).
  3. Dial the automated video system (phone number is 7-0039) and follow the voice instructions.
  • Press 1 if you are a patient.
  • Press 1 to make a reservation or press 2 to delete a reservation (disregard option 3 you can not control the program once it has begun).
  • Enter the program number (from step 2) followed by the # key.
  • Press 1 if correct.
  • Press 1 to play now or press 2 to schedule at a later date Enter the month and day.
  • Enter the hour and minute.
  • AM or PM?
  • Your video will be played on the date and time selected. Be sure to jot down the patient channel (47-52) number.

How do I order Patient or Staff Videos from the URMC automated video distribution system?
  1. Turn your CCTV to a Patient Channel (47-52) or a Staff channel (60-64) and look for the medical media delivery billboard.
  2. Identify the desired video from the scrolling screen and jot down the video number to be used in the next step.
  3. Dial 7-0039 on any internal URMC phone for the automated video system and follow the voice instructions.
What if my TV doesn't get the channel required?
For those located in the Hospital call facilities at 34567. They will program your TV, if possible, for the appropriate staff or patient channels. Should you be located outside the hospital but in the medical center you can call Telemedicine at 273-4562 or 273-2920.
My department does not have CCTV. Where do I go?
There are many CCTV locations throughout the facility. All the ACF conference rooms have capability and can be scheduled by contacting OER at 57666. Another alternative is to check with nearby departments.
Can I reserve a video in advance or is it only on demand?
Yes, you can reserve a video up to 30 days in advance. In step 3 above you will be given the choice to select the "schedule video" option.
Can I control the video once it starts playing?
 
No, once the video starts it will play continuously. If you missed the start you will need to reschedule the video.
