has announced it's 2009-2010 topics for its monthly speakers series. Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the Al Sigl Center on Elmwood Avenue in Brighton. Reservations are required by calling 585-248-9011 or emailing contact@unyfeat.org.

The Advocacy Center presents a series of workshops
This series is targeted to Service Coordinators and Respite Care Providers and may be used to satisfy the MSC annual training requirement. All sessions will be held at the Advocacy Center, 590 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620
Sensory Integration and Behavioral Issues for Individuals with Autism
Participants will learn about supporting individuals with behavioral and sensory issues through sensory integration techniques and positive behavioral interventions.

Communication Considerations for Individuals with Autism
Participants will learn how autism can affect language and communication. Intervention models such a DIR, ABA, and TEACCH will be explored.

Autism in Central New York: Research and Practice
Cornell University is hosting a daylong workshop with updates on current neurobiological theories or autism and how the science relates to therapeutic practices.

CARD Rochester Autism Conference
Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh will be presenting the keynote address at the CARD Rochester Autism Conference. Autism interventions included in the daylong conference are behavioral sleep medicine, functional behavioral assessment, treatment of problem behavior, language intervention and collaboration.
