Pediatric Speech Pathology
Speech Pathology offers comprehensive services for infants, children and adolescents with a wide variety of disorders including problems with speech, language, and swallowing.
Services are provided at Golisano Children’s Hospital, for children who are hospitalized, as well as through our outpatient clinics. Children may be referred to us by their pediatrician/family physician or by a pediatric subspecialist.
Conditions We Treat
Speech Pathology evaluation and therapy is available to children with a variety of disorders including, but not limited to:
- Aphasia
- Apraxia
- Autism spectrum disorders
- Cognitive impairments such as attention, memory, and problem solving disorders
- Language-based learning disabilities
- Speech-resonance problems associated with cleft palate and craniofacial anomalies
- Stuttering
- Swallowing (dysphagia) and feeding disorders
- Voice disorders
- Conditions that require tracheostomies or ventilators
