Will I be compensated for being involved in clinical research? Will there be any costs to me?
In some cases, participants in clinical research receive a small fee for their involvement. This varies from study to study. You should feel free to ask your research coordinator if you will be paid for your involvement.
In general, some or all of the care you receive through clinical research will be provided free of charge. That may include doctor visits, medications, tests and procedures. Or, it may just include some of those things. Since every study is different, be sure to ask your research coordinator for full details.
