Many people think only those who are sick get involved in clinical research. But actually, clinical research requires the help of healthy volunteers, too.
In some studies, researchers need to compare healthy volunteers with people who have a specific disease or condition. Also, in the earliest phase of clinical trials, new drugs and treatments often must be tested on healthy volunteers first.
Why would you get involved? The most basic reason is simply to help others. In some clinical research studies, healthy volunteers also receive compensation.
