Periodic Paralysis Study
| Purpose | The purpose of this study is to find better ways of diagnosing periodic paralysis. This will lead to a better understanding of how the disease occurs and help researchers plan studies of possible treatments. By conducting this study, the researchers will obtain information that will help: *Find out if certain exercise tests and the addition of potassium or sugar help doctors better diagnose periodic paralysis *Find out if people who have been diagnosed with periodic paralysis also have a genetic mutation for the disorder *Find out if abnormalities found in a heart test predict certain genetic mutations | |||
