Faculty Positions Available
The Center for Neurodegenerative and Vascular Brain Disorders will be developed through faculty recruitments from full professor to assistant professor in the following areas of strategic interest:
- Cerebrovascular angiopathy in Alzheimer’s disease with emphasis on vascular smooth muscle cell biology, hemorrhagic stroke and 2-photon imaging
- Neuroinflammatory and vascular mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease with emphasis on microglia biology and microglia/monocytes blood-brain barrier trafficking
- Models of multiple sclerosis with emphasis on leucocytes (T lymphocytes) trafficking at the blood-brain barrier
- Models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and clinical studies
- Structural-functional studies on protein C/protein S system
- Biomedical imaging with emphasis on MRI neurovascular imaging of the blood flow and blood-brain barrier permeability in man and in animal models
- Blood-brain barrier and CSF markers and new genomic and proteomic platforms in animal models and man.
Successful candidates will have dual appointments in Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neurobiology and Anatomy, Medicine, Brain and Cognitive Sciences and/or other academic departments. There will be an ample opportunity for collaborations and scientific interactions with other researchers in the Medical Center and within the University.
