Electronic library resources, and the skills necessary to navigate them effectively, change on a regular basis. Practicing physicians need to stay appraised on new developments in the delivery of primary, secondary, and tertiary medical literature, to better inform their clinical decisions. Housecalls in an effort to bring such vital training to the office setting of faculty and staff physicians at Strong, with the hopes that CME credit will increase our ability to meet our educational imperative.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS IN MEDICAL EDUCATION - July 2007 - June 2008. Enhanced skills in teaching are an essential component to on-going improvement of quality education. The workshop topics address specific areas of need as determined by a needs assessment and student evaluations. All faculty involved in medical education can benefit from these interactive workshops on teaching approaches.

INVESTIGATOR TRAINING FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH - March 2007 - December 2007.
This one-day intensive course geared toward physicians and their staff involved in research trials, or those who want to become involved in trials, is designed to give investigators basic information concerning research trials and the responsibilities of investigators when performing these trials.

RHEUMATOLOGY PRECEPTORSHIP FOR PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS - March 2007-December 2007. This activity will provide training in the performance of the knee and shoulder injection using fabricated training models. This is a unique course because it will allow examination of real patients in rheumatology clinic.

PATIENT SAFETY: BUILDING A SAFER HEALTH SYSTEM - September 6, 2007 - January 1, 2008.
The program is designed to increase your knowledge of how to improve safety and to educate participants on the latest thinking theories regarding safety. The program will consist of ten individual sessions and will combine presentations with case studies and discussion.
