The National Center for Deaf Health Research (NCDHR) conducts research on health issues in Academic researchers and Deaf and hard-of-hearing community members work together through the Center to prioritize research questions, design research projects, and communicate research results to healthcare providers and the community. The NCDHR is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is based at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Department of Community and Preventive Medicine. The Center collaborates with various community agencies and organizations, including the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency, DePaul, the Rochester School for the Deaf, and the Monroe County Department of Health.
The National Center for Deaf Health Research is a member of the Prevention Research Centers Program, supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under cooperative agreement number 1-U48-DP-000031.
