Research:

Ms. Tuttle is interested in operations and research that supports new knowledge aligned with the Office of Clinical Practice Evaluation priorities of understanding clinical outcomes related to quality of care; patient safety and customer satisfaction. Clinical measurement and reporting in support of hospital strategic priorities are a focus of Ms. Tuttle's quality improvement work.

OVERVIEW
Deborah Tuttle, R.N., M.P.S. is Director of the Office of Clinical Practice Evaluation (OCPE) at Strong Health. The office functions as the primary support for clinical analysis, outcomes management, and customer satisfaction activities for Strong Memorial Hospital. SMH and SH Performance Scorecards and hospital departmental scorecards are produced by OCPE. The OCPE is actively involved in the hospital's strategies to capture, analyze, and report unsafe conditions, near miss, and adverse events. The OCPE is responsible for hospital-wide reporting around patient safety and error-free performance. Ms. Tuttle is currently the principal investigator of an MCIC Vermont, Inc. small grant studying the use of technology to optimize reporting of high loss occurrences as identified through our hospital's risk management experience.

She is also presently active in quality management and safety initiatives at Strong Memorial Hospital in her role as Associate Quality Officer, Quality Improvement and Instructor in Community and Preventive Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is active in the Strong Leadership Program as an instructor of Module 10, "Patient Safety and Error-Free Performance".

Ms. Tuttle actively collaborates with national quality management organizations, including the Quality Management Network and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
