OVERVIEW |
Dr. Temkin-Greener's expertise is in the development of innovative financing and delivery models for the elderly, with a particular focus on the frail and the disabled. She has been involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of state and national demonstrations programs and has conducted research in the following areas: risk-adjustment in Medicare/Medicaid; end-of-life service use, cost, and practice patterns; dynamics of Medicaid spend-down; transitions from the community to long-term care; and underwriting practices in long term care insurance. Dr. Temkin-Greener’s current research is focused in four areas: 1) Studies of quality of care and risk-adjusted outcomes in the PACE program. 2) Development of measures of clinical team performance in long-term care and its relationship to patient outcomes. 3) End-of-life care quality and practice patterns. 4) The impact of Medicare risk-adjusted payment model (HCC) on the PACE program. |
