OVERVIEW
|
| Dr. Noyes joined the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine at the URMC in 2000 as a postdoctoral research fellow to pursue training in cost-effectiveness and health services research. As a basic scientist in the biomedical field, Dr. Noyes came to realize the important role of various, non-biological factors, in determining people's health status.
Dr. Noyes is presently focusing on analysis of clinical and economic outcomes in elderly patients,
in particular, those with Parkinson's disease, depression, and subjects who received implantable cardiac defibrillators.
For her research, Dr. Noyes uses data from clinical trials as well as government health care surveys
and medical claims submitted to insurance. She is also interested in developing multivariate methods for
reducing uncertainty in cost-effectiveness studies that originates from missing data and population variance.
Dr. Noyes is involved in teaching graduate and medical curriculum courses on Cost-Effectiveness Research,
Quality of Care and Risk Adjustment, and Health Economics.
