Research:
Mr. Goonan advises the Senior Vice President/Vice Provost
for Health Affairs and Chief Executive Officer of Strong Health
on all financial matters that affect the Medical Center and
assures that all financial responsibilities of the Medical
Center are carried out in an accurate, timely, and professional
manner. Mr. Goonan also serves as a key senior advisor on
other administrative policy matters and strategic planning
issues involving the Medical Center, Strong Health and the
respective parts thereof.

| Mr. Goonan directs all financial planning,
budgeting, operations, monitoring and reporting functions in order
to ensure the effective financial management of the Medical Center
and Strong Health. He provides counsel on short- and long-term
financial planning to both entities. Mr. Goonan is responsible
for the development and implementation of policies and procedures
to ensure management control over both funds generated and expended.
He represents the Medical Center, the University of Rochester,
Strong Health, and the respective component parts thereof with
external public and private agencies concerned with the various
aspects of related financial matters.
In addition to serving on the University of Rochester Medical
Center Board, Mr. Goonan participates on the Board of Directors
of the Rochester Chapter of American Red Cross, The Crittenden
Boulevard Housing Authority, Visiting Nurse Service, and Medical
Centre Insurance Company, Inc.
Mr. Goonan was the premiere recipient of the St. John Fisher
Alumni Award for Excellence in Management in the not-for-profit
sector.
Mr. Goonan is a New York State Certified Public Accountant.
