Quality improvement, clinical decision making, and patient safety.

Dr. Panzer has been on the faculty
of the University of Rochester from 1982 to the present. He is
a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He was an active
member of the Quality Management Network (QMN) and served as Chair
of its Executive Committee in 1997. He is a member of the Quality
Initiatives Committee of the Healthcare Association of New York
State (HANYS), Board and Executive Committee member of the Island
Peer Review Organization (IPRO), Chair of the Statewide NYPORTS
Council for the New York State Department of Health, and past
Chair of the Greater Rochester Quality Council (GRQC) Board.
He has been a co-editor of two editions of Diagnostic Strategies
for Common Medical Problems, published by the American College
of Physicians.
Dr. Panzer is presently active in healthcare management at
Strong Memorial Hospital in his role as Chief Quality Officer
in both the Hospital and the Medical Center. He is also Associate
Medical Director for Clinical Services, Strong Memorial Hospital
/University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, was
Medical Director for the StrongCare Health Plan (joint venture
of URMC & FLBCBS), and is Director of the Division of Clinical
Practice Evaluation in the Department of Community and Preventive
Medicine, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Dr. Panzer is an active member of the Medical Staff of Strong
Memorial Hospital maintaining a primary care practice in the
General Medicine Unit of the Department of Medicine and participating
in both its consultation and hospitalist services. |
