Division of Health Services Research and PolicyTeachingThe Division offers a doctoral program in Health Services Research. It is designed to train individuals with an interest in contributing to the improvement of the health care system through research and policy analysis. Individuals with experience in the health care field (such as physicians, dentists, nurses) and those with training at any level in the social sciences (economics, anthropology, sociology, and political science, for example) are all encouraged to apply. The Division also sponsors a certificate program in Health and Aging. The certificate program consists of five courses specializing in issues related to the elderly, their health and provision of health services to this population. The certificate program is open to all University of Rochester students and, by permission from the directors, to non-matriculated students as well. Division faculty also participate actively in the Master of Public Health Program offered by the Department of Community & Preventive Medicine. |
