Doctoral Degree Programs

The term doctorate comes from the Latin docere, meaning "to teach", shortened from the full Latin title licentia docendi, meaning "license to teach." A doctoral degree is by nature and tradition the highest certificate of membership in the academic community.

Graduates of our programs exhibit the presence of superior qualities of mind and intellectual interests of high attainments in their chosen field(s). The Department of Community and Preventive Medicine offers two doctoral level programs:
