James P. Wilmot Cancer Center Cancer Research Program Grant

The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center is soliciting applications for a Cancer Research Program grant. This RFP is designated to support one programmatic research project that is highly collaborative in nature. The project must be in the area of basic, translational, behavioral, or epidemiological cancer research.

The implicit goal of the award is to support the development of a new research project that can compete for federal funding. Preference will be given to projects with high potential for multiple future R01-type grants.

The award will be based on scientific merit and innovation. Up to $100,000 of funding may be requested for one year.

Proposal

This is a stream-lined process. Proposals should use Arial font, size 11; one-inch margins; and single-spaced type.

Proposals should consist of:

  • Proposed research: five-page maximum (abstract, hypothesis, specific aims, background and significance, and plan of research);
  • Budget;
  • Biosketch in NIH format; and
  • Other support.

The proposal does not bee to be routed internally.

 

Submission Timeline

Applications are due November 1, 2012. The anticipated start date for funding is January 1, 2013. Applications should be submitted electronically to Brian Martin, Associate Director for Administration, James P. Wilmot Cancer Center (Brian_Martin@URMC.Rochester.edu).
