James P. Wilmot Cancer Center Seed Grants in Cancer Research

The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center is soliciting applications for grants focusing on cancer research. This RFP is designated to support three separate, individual, or collaborative research projects in the area of basic, translational, behavioral, or epidemiological cancer research.

The implicit goal of these awards is to support the development of new research projects that can compete for federal funding. Collaborations are strongly encouraged.

The awards will be based on scientific merit and innovation. Up to $50,000 of funding may be requested for one year.

Proposal

This is a stream-lined process. Proposals should use Arial font, size 11; one-inch margins; and single-spaced type.

Proposals should consist of:

  • Proposed research: three-page maximum (abstract, hypothesis, specific aims, background and significance, and plan of research);
  • Biosketch in NIH format; and
  • Other support.

The proposal does not bee to be routed internally.

Submission Timeline

Applications are due November 1, 2012. The anticipated start date for funding is January 1, 2013.
