Melanoma Research Grant

On behalf of the Rochester Melanoma Action Group, the Department of Dermatology is soliciting applications for a grant focusing on melanoma research.  The award is designated to support one innovative project in the area of basic, translational, clinical, behavioral, or epidemiological melanoma research, with the goal of making the project competitive for federal funding. Up to $25,000 of funding may be requested for one year. Funds are to be used for supplies and technical support; funds are not to be used for faculty salary support. Only full-time University of Rochester faculty members are eligible to apply.

 

Proposal Submission

Proposals are due March 15, 2013, and must be submitted electronically to Jayne_Kresinske@urmc.rochester.edu.

Proposals should have a three-page maximum length; should use Arial font, and a font size of 11-point; 0.5 -inch margins; be single-spaced type; and consist of:

  • Proposed research, (Abstract, Hypothesis, Specific Aims, Background and Significance, and Plan of Research);
  • Biosketch in NIH format;
  • Other support;
  • Budget outline.

The award will be based on scientific merit and innovation. The start date for funding is June 1, 2013.
