Tuberculosis Research Units

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) invites applications to support the establishment of two to three multinational, multidisciplinary Tuberculosis Research Units (TBRUs). The units will operate as a collaborative network to study tuberculosis latency and persistence, and their relation to active TB disease, in humans and animal models. This FOA will utilize the NIH U19 Research Program Cooperative Agreements award mechanism.

This is a limited submission program; the University may submit only one (1) grant application under this announcement. Interested faculty must submit an abstract, CV, and budget to Dean Puzas (Catherine_muzytchuk@urmc.rochester.edu) by December 3, 2012, using the words “Tuberculosis Research” in the subject line. The Deans will choose a candidate by December 14, 2012.

The optional Letter of Intent is due January 14, 2013. The full proposal is due February 13, 2013. The complete program solicitation can be found here.
