Informatics
The Informatics Core is available for supporting the data management needs of investigator-initiated clinical and translational research. The Informatics Core offers assistance with database design and implementation, software application development, web services, forms management and research reporting and analysis. With state-of-the-art IBM servers that reside in the University Data Center, a secure and well-maintained environment exists for the successful management of investigators' research databases.

Philip Ng, B.S. (Computer Science),
is our Head Developer. Phil has been with the CRC since 2004 and worked previously as an Analyst / Programmer. He serves a vital role with the Informatics Core by providing the programming expertise to deliver successful software solutions to investigators and serves in an expanded role with the CTSI Biomedical Informatics mission. User Room
Located in room B-5023, the Informatics User Room facilitates protocol data management requirements and is accessible to all investigators and their support staff. The user room has 4 personal computers, 2 scanners, a network printer with color capabilities, and possesses multiple software packages (Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, Scanning software, and statistical software).
Users are welcome on a first-come, first-serve basis for computer use. In order to reserve a minimum of a 2-hour block for scanning, please call 275-9301. The informatics core staff is always available to provide assistance during user room utilization.

Introduction to Informatics
The Informatics Core and Miner Library partner together to present the Introduction to Informatics workshop. The precursor to the Advanced Research Informatics workshop, this workshop is offered during the summer of the first year in the program.
