Purpose of the Data Set Part of a national longitudinal study that focuses on older Americans and their health, retirement, and economic status.

Sampling Frame/Design Derived from four baseline groups: those born 1931 through 1941, those born in 1923 or earlier, those born in 1942 through 1947, and those born in 1924 through 1930.
