Oral Health Care

The Division of Eastman Dental Center is responsible for the coordination and management of Dentistry at the University of Rochester's academic and clinical efforts. It's oral health clinical efforts include the oral health diagnostic and treatment services of the University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Health. We deliver high quality oral health care and advanced training for dentistry's future leaders.

Faculty, residents, and staff provide comprehensive and specialty services to the community. An important focus is the care to the underserved.

A Comprehensive Approach

We believe that every person, no matter what their income level, should have access to oral health care and our programs and services in preventive and primary dentistry are designed to make sure that happens. No matter how our patients come to us, our patient care plans involve the dentist and hygienist with appropriate consultation from physicians; all working together to develop and deliver a comprehensive treatment program for our patient's improved health.

The division provided over 140,000 patient visits in 2002 and provided treatment in the areas of general dentistry and specialties in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontology, and prosthodontics.

Our clinical sites range from private office settings to institutional settings such as Eastman Dental Center, Strong Memorial Hospital, Highland Hospital, Monroe Community Hospital, and outreach sites in urban and rural settings. Providers include faculty and dentists who are involved in primary and specialty care.
