Foundation Relations

The program develops, coordinates, and advances foundation relationships. The office supports priority projects and institutional initiatives across the Medical Center, including Dentistry at the URMC.

We reach out to:

• National and local private foundations and funds
• Private trusts
• Corporate foundations

Dentistry’s focus since the early 1900s has been caring for the underserved. It continues today with oral health care for indigent children and their families, the developmentally disabled, the homeless, the medically compromised, and our geriatric patients.

For over 30 years, the Community Dentistry Program has operated the SMILEmobile Program and a number of school-based dental clinics in the innercity.

Today, there are three SMILEmobiles including the new Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation unit and the need continues to grow. The newest school clinic is the Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation Outreach Dental Clinic at #17 School.
