Dr. Bahreman has over 40 years of experience in dental education, administration, and private practice. He founded and chaired both the departments of pediatrics and orthodontics and served as the vice dean of the newly established dental school in Tehran, Iran. He planned and directed the dental school curriculum for seven years, during which time he founded the Dental School Journal and served as editor for 15 years.
In addition to his 17 years in the Orthodontic Department, Dr. Bahreman also served as dean of the dental school for five years. During that time, he planned and organized postgraduate curricula that were the first of its kind in Iran. The material covered different specialties; it was approved by the minister of higher education one year later; and the courses were instituted in the dental school.
While involved in administrative work, Dr. Bahreman was an active member of several educational, health care, and research committees for the ministers of higher education and health, and several dental and medical organizations.
Dr. Bahreman has been a member of a number of dental organizations including the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), World Federation of Orthodontics, and he is a fellow of the International College of Dentists. He also founded the Iranian Association of Orthodontists, and served as president at the group’s first meeting in Iran.
Dr. Bahreman has served from 2003 until the present as a full-time clinical professor, teaching and supervising treatment in the orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) programs at Eastman Dental Center. |
