| Dr.
Blieden is also a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
He is a consultant for the scientific advisory boards of biotechology
firms specializing in developing professional dental products.
He also serves on the research science and therapy committee of
the American Academy of Periodontology.
Since 1993, Dr. Blieden has chaired the Institutional Review Board
for studies involving human subjects. As an immunologist and periodontist, his basic
science interests are focused on heterotypic interactions between
T-lymphocytes and fibroblasts in periodontal inflammation. Dr.
Blieden is also involved in human clinical trials of surgical
and nonsurgical therapies. |
