Lindsey Keck, DDS, of Pediatric Dentistry, was nominated by a young patient who credits Dr. Keck for helping her overcome an intense fear of the dentist. The patient previously had work done but was too terrified to finish. Dr. Keck, who graduated in June, gently explained to the trembling patient that she’s not the other dentist, and slowly alleviated her patient’s fears and successfully completed the necessary work.
Christina Rossi, a Dental Hygienist with Clinton Crossings Faculty Practice and Community Dentistry, was nominated by a co-worker impressed with Rossi’s helpfulness and willingness to accommodate more patients. Unaware that her appointment had been rescheduled, a patient showed up, and without hesitation or complaint, Christina was very helpful and willing to accommodate the extra work.
Lisa Sansone, RDH, Sr. Operations Administrator, Dept. of Dentistry and Division of OMFS was awarded by a patient who greatly appreciates her caring work and concern for his timely dental care. Lisa stepped in and took over the patient’s treatment immediately when his regular hygienist was unavailable. “She provided outstanding patient care!” the patient wrote.
Betty Moses, Ambulatory Patient Rep II at the Strong Memorial Hospital site, was nominated by a friend of a patient: “Whenever I bring my best friend in for an appointment, I wait about an hour or so. “It is such a pleasure to listen to Betty talk and greet patients – she is so nice and pleasant.”
Chia Taw Huang, DDS and Gina Curtiss, Clinical Manager, Community Dentistry were jointly awarded by a patient’s mother for taking that extra step to see that her autistic child’s dental needs were served in a timely and comfortable manner. “On the day of his surgery, we were welcomed with warmth and patience,” she wrote.
