Eastman Department of Dentistry offers a three-year advanced training
program leading to specialty certification in periodontology. The
certificate program can be integrated with research training for
those who plan to enter a career involving teaching and research.
This program leads to a master of science degree with a major in
dental science, that is awarded by the University of Rochester, and
the specialty certificate.
It is also possible
to combine advanced clinical training in periodontology with work
for a PhD degree in one of the basic biomedical sciences. Fellowships
supported by the NIDR are available to those who plan a career
primarily in research and teaching.
